SUMMARY:Adult Mental Health First Aid (virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an early-intervention training course that teaches you how to identify\, understand\, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in other adults. Just like physical first aid or CPR\, it gives everyday people the tools to provide initial support and connect someone in crisis to professional care until help arrives. This virtual blended course will be offered in 2-parts on consecutive days (Wednesday\, 9/2/26 and Thursday\, 9/3/26 from 5:30pm-8:30pm) via Zoom. Participants will also have 1.5 hours of independent videos to watch before the live sessions. Must register to gain access to the prework. Must complete all parts to become certified.

SUMMARY:Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) Fall Cohort
DESCRIPTION:The VPQHC CAMS Fall Cohort has two primary elements: \n1. CAMS Foundational Online Video Training (3 CES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE)\nThe CAMS Foundational Online Training is a 3-hour unscripted clinical demonstration with a patient through the course of 12 sessions of the CAMS Framework\, featuring the creator of CAMS\, Dr. David A. Jobes. Participants are encouraged to complete the Foundational Online Training before attending the first Consultation Call. \n2. CAMS Consultation Calls (4 FREE CES AVAILABLE)\nAfter completing the Foundational Online Training clinicians will participate in at least four out of eight CAMS Consultation Calls in order to receive CEs. The consultation calls reinforce learning through case discussions with experienced CAMS consultants. Participants who complete at least four consultation calls will receive a free CAMS source book\, Managing Suicidal Risk: A Collaborative Approach by Dr. David A. Open to practitioners across disciplines and care settings\, this group offers a space to deepen understanding\, share real-world application strategies\, and build confidence in delivering CAMS-aligned care. \nIn this session\, Dr. Kevin Crowley will focus on strategies for applying the CAMS model\, with an emphasis on understanding direct and indirect drivers and exploring optional CAMS forms. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss challenging cases and receive expert consultation from Dr. Crowley. \nBy the end of this presentation\, participants should be able to:\n1.) Define direct and indirect drivers of suicidal ideation within the CAMS Framework\n2.) Identify strategies for working with clients to identify drivers.\n3.) SUMMARY:Youth Mental Health First Aid
DESCRIPTION:Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is designed to teach parents\, family members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders.
