SUMMARY:ASIST Training - South Burlington
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free\, two-day ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) in South Burlington. \nASIST is the world’s most widely used suicide intervention skills training\, developed by LivingWorks and used by more than 2 million people worldwide. It teaches a practical\, evidence-based framework for recognizing when someone may be having thoughts of suicide\, talking with them directly\, and building an immediate safety plan together. \nThis session is led by certified ASIST trainers Meagan MacGregor and Mark Margolis. \nTypical costs are $250–$500 per person. It is offered here at no cost\, including all training materials. Coffee and lunch will be provided during the training. \nAnyone 16 or older who wants to be ready to help is welcome — clinicians\, crisis workers\, teachers\, faith and community leaders\, first responders\, parents\, and any caring community member. No clinical background is required. \nSeats are limited to 30 and available first come\, first served. Both days must be attended.

SUMMARY:Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) Community of Practice: CAMS and Substance Use
DESCRIPTION:The CAMS Community of Practice is an ongoing learning and support network for clinicians who have completed training in the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). Open to practitioners across disciplines and care settings\, this group offers a space to deepen understanding\, share real-world application strategies\, and build confidence in delivering CAMS-aligned care. \nIn this session\, Dr. Kevin Crowley will discuss strategies for using the Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality Model when the client also has a substance use disorder. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their own challenging CAMS cases and receive consultation from Dr. Crowley. \nBy the end of this presentation\, participants should be able to:\n1.) Understand the relationship between substance use and suicidal ideation.\n2.) Identify strategies for using CAMS with clients who have a substance use disorder.\n3.) Identify effective strategies for implementing CAMS with challenging cases. \nIt is recommended that Community of Practice participants have completed the Foundational Online Video and CAMS Consultation Calls. \n1 continuing education credit approved through the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation for Allied Mental Health Practitioners\, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors\, Psychoanalysts\, Psychologists\, and Social Workers. \nLocation: Remote. \nWho should attend? Anyone who has completed CAMS training and wants to stay connected\, grow their skills\, and contribute to a supportive professional network.
