DESCRIPTION:A CAMS-care consultant will lead a full-day experiential workshop\, demonstrating the use of CAMS through live\, unscripted role-plays based on real patient scenarios. DESCRIPTION:In the wake of a suicide death\, communities are often left grieving\, searching for answers\, and unsure how best to support those most affected. This webinar will provide guidance on effective and compassionate postvention practices for first responders\, service providers\, and community members across Vermont. \nPanelists from local and statewide organizations will share practical strategies\, available resources\, and real-world lessons learned to help reduce risk\, promote healing\, and strengthen community response. \nParticipants will gain a clearer understanding of how coordinated postvention efforts can both support bereaved families and serve as a critical component of suicide prevention. \n1.5 continuing education credits are approved through Vermont’s Office of Professional Regulation for Allied Mental Health Practitioners\, First Responders\, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors\, Psychoanalysts\, Psychologists\, and Social Workers. \nLocation: Remote \nWho Should Attend? Each class has limited space (30 participants). \nIn many communities\, MHFA certification costs $100–$200. Through VCP funding\, you can earn your three-year certification at no cost. \nThe goal of MHFA is to build empowered\, connected communities by helping people recognize signs of mental health challenges and respond effectively. You’ll learn a five-step action plan to offer support\, encourage professional help\, and connect individuals to community resources. \nThis training is brought to you by generous funding through Vermont Care Partners (VCP) Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) grant funds. Current grants include The Vermont Department of Health’s Garrett Lee Smith grant\, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Mental Health Awareness Training grant\, and the Vermont Department of Mental Health AWARE grant.

SUMMARY:Question\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR)
DESCRIPTION:Would you give 90 minutes to save a life? NKHS offers QPR introduction to suicide training for adults and caretakers to raise awareness\, dispel myths and misconceptions\, and teach three skills that can help save a life. A QPR trainee will learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide\, how to offer hope\, and how to get help. \nQPR is an emergency response to someone in a suicide crisis just as CPR is an emergency response to a physical health crisis. \nWe invite you to register for QPR Suicide Prevention Awareness Training via Zoom. This training is interactive. There is no cost for the training and resource materials for participants thanks to support from Vermont Department of Health.

DESCRIPTION:The Stanley Brown Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) is a brief\, evidence-based approach designed to reduce suicide risk by helping individuals recognize warning signs\, build coping strategies\, and identify sources of support. \nThis free training offers an overview of the Stanley Brown SPI tool and provides hands-on practice to help participants build confidence in using the intervention with people experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors. \nParticipants will learn how to understand the structure and components of the Stanley Brown SPI form and practice administering SPI through interactive role-play exercises. \n2 continuing education credits approved for Allied Mental Health Practitioners\, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors\, Psychoanalysts\, Psychologists\, and Social Workers.
