DESCRIPTION:Sunshine Silver Lining invites you to register for a virtual Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course. These trainings are open to Vermonters and those who serve and support Vermonters\, with 30 grant-funded spots available per class through Vermont Care Partners. \nMHFA training empowers communities\, organizations\, and individuals by providing the knowledge and skills to address mental health challenges effectively. In these courses\, participants will learn how to: \nRecognize the signs of mental health challenges or an emerging crisis. \nOffer initial support and intervention for someone experiencing distress. \nApply a five-step action plan to connect individuals with professional and peer support. \nNavigate local and national mental health resources\, ensuring access to care. \nFor those interested in supporting youth\, Youth Mental Health First Aid focuses on equipping adults with the tools to assist young people ages 6 to 18 facing mental health concerns. \nThis training is made possible through generous funding from Vermont Care Partners (VCP) Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) grants\, which include: \nThe Vermont Department of Health’s Garrett Lee Smith grant \nThe Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Mental Health Awareness Training grant \nThe Vermont Department of Mental Health AWARE grant \nJoin us in building a more compassionate\, informed\, and supportive community around mental health.
