SAVE THE DATE for Facing Suicide Together Through Stories of Hope and Healing

Please join us for a special event celebrating courageous Vermonters impacted by suicide who’ve shared personal stories of resilience and hope! In an effort to save lives and spread hope, people across our state are sharing their bold voices and brave hearts in the Real Stories portion of our FacingSuicideVT.com campaign. With your presence, build community with us, enjoy refreshments, learn something new, and most importantly – uplift lived experience voices in suicide prevention.
This screening and reception is Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025 from 4-6 pm at Capitol Plaza, 100 State St. Montpelier.
Doors at 3:30 (refreshments and mingling)
Program starts promptly at 4 pm

  • Stories from the campaign will be screened/shared
  • Participants discuss aspects of sharing their stories publicly
  • The power and importance of elevating lived experience voices in suicide prevention will be explored
  • Special guest speaker TBA
  • Enjoy refreshments, community, resource tables
Reception collaborators and partners: Center for Health and Learning, National Alliance of Mental Illness VT Chapter,  American Foundation for Suicide Prevention VT Chapter.  The Vermont Department of Health and Department of Mental Health manage FacingSuicideVT.com, a statewide initiative to improve how Vermont supports individuals, families, and communities affected by suicide and prevents suicide deaths among people at risk.
